This Bill was on the Order Paper for a Second Reading on several Fridays before being dropped by its sponsor, Mr Stephen Crabb.

 

Summary of the Bill

The Bill would impose a duty on local authorities in respect of looked-after children who are detained in custody. It would also make provision for a new Care of Children Advisory Panel to advise the Secretary of State on how to allocate budgetary responsibility for care for detained looked-after children.
